Draftpad Support

Back to App

Welcome

Need help using Draftpad? This page covers the most common questions, troubleshooting tips, and how to reach out for support.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. Does Draftpad save my text automatically?

Yes. Your text and settings are stored locally in your browser using Local Storage. If you clear browser data or use incognito mode, your text will be lost.

2. Can I use Draftpad offline?

Yes. Draftpad is a Progressive Web App (PWA). Install it to your device for offline access. You’ll find the install option inside the Settings panel.

3. How can I switch between Light and Dark mode?

Use the sun/moon icons in the top-right corner. Your theme choice is saved automatically for future sessions.

4. How do platform limits work?

Select a platform preset (like Twitter or LinkedIn) from the sidebar to visualize character limits. The progress bar updates and changes color as you approach or exceed the limit.

5. Can I export my drafts?

Yes. You can export as plain text, Markdown, HTML, or JSON using the Export button in the sidebar.

Troubleshooting

My text disappeared

This can happen if your browser’s local storage was cleared. Unfortunately, Draftpad doesn’t sync to the cloud (yet), so local data loss cannot be recovered.

Offline mode isn’t working

Try reinstalling Draftpad as a PWA (via your browser’s install prompt or in Settings). Also ensure you’re using a modern browser like Chrome, Edge, or Safari.

Export buttons don’t respond

This might be due to restricted clipboard permissions. Try reloading the page or allowing clipboard access when prompted.

Markdown preview looks broken

Make sure your markdown is correctly formatted. Draftpad uses marked.js for rendering — some advanced syntax might render differently.
